The Maneki Koneko sugar bowl survived the bisque firing in the kiln and is ready for staining. The creamer is still at the greenware stage, but is now dry enough to fire.
The sugar bowl has been stained as a calico to match the teapot and the “yarn ball” has been stained inside and out with a deep red. (The item in the lower left corner of the picture below is one of my linocut dragon discs from the winter session. It has also been stained deep red.)
I had also made a sugar spoon to rest inside the bowl. To give it some contrast, I’ve stained it bright green.
Some different views of the sugar bowl; the red clay item in the background is a pinch pot maple leaf dish I made several months back and have waxed for glazing.
