It’s been nearly two months since I updated “Bits, Pieces, and Parts Thereof” (see: https://gaelicnisei.wordpress.com/2015/03/21/bits-pieces-and-parts-thereof/ and https://gaelicnisei.wordpress.com/2015/02/06/colour-test-in-acrylic/ for reference). This is a large-scale painting, made up of 15 separate canvases, and will be on display in the Porcupine Art Club’s themed show “Bright Earth” at the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre in June – less that two weeks from now.
All 15 canvases were primed with inexpensive acrylic in the general colour scheme of the painting, and now the bulk of the “blocking in” (literally, as the background is made up entirely of 2 X 2″ squares) has been completed. All that remains is the detailing, consisting of metallic outlines and marbling swirls. Here are some more close-ups or “puzzle pieces” making up the painting.
